About Cicada Sports

The name Cicada comes from the Latin word for a cricket.

Cicada Sports was founded in the West Midlands in December 2004 and is situated in a specifically designed premises in West Bromwich. The company offers showroom facilities open to the general public from 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday – Friday and 3pm on a Saturday.

Cicada Sports is managed and run by ex-Warwickshire County Cricket Club Professional and current ECB coach Phil Oliver, Alex Williams BA Hons, Accredited Groundsman and Business System Professional, Steve Copson a successful businessman and Company Director.

Cicada Sports mission statement is to provide expert service and advice on all aspects of cricket from ground and club management to coaching for individuals, Cricket Clubs, School, and Universities from Grass Roots to Professional Level.

Sponsorship

Cicada Sports sponsor first-class cricketers from Somerset CCC and Middlesex CCC in addition Minor County Cricket Clubs Staffordshire, Cambridgeshire and Herefordshire have also been supplied and are current users of Cicada’s own branded clothing and equipment.

Cicada Sports are the official league sponsors of Staffordshire Club Cricket Championship using the Cicada’s unrivalled quality cricket balls and are the main approved supplies of clothing and equipment to the league.
